A Literacy drive program in Rural and backward areas.

The Goal of this program is to encourage kids to attend school and study. The prime focus of this program is to create awareness among parents and students about the need for education in the village. To encourage the parents and students, Baalya Foundation is lending a helping hand to students who have financial constraints to buy educational aids such as school books, bags, uniform etc. and conducting motivational programs that showcase the importance of the education.

Creating awareness on how learning new things and going to school can be entertaining.

The Goal of this program was to encourage the students (from I to X standard) to attend school and study. The prime focus of this program is to create the awareness among parents and students about the need for education in the village. To encourage the parents and students, Baalya Foundation is lending a helping hand to students who have financial constraints to buy educational aids such as school books, bags, uniform etc. and conducting motivational programs that showcase the importance of the education.

The project is being implemented in the schools around the village called Mikkere village, Kirugavalu hobali, Malavali taluku in Mandya dist of Karnataka, for 6 schools around the village in the month of July 2009.

Akshara Photo Gallery

The first program of the year 2012 was Akshara, which was held on 7th of July 2012. The location for the program was a government school in a village called Nelagundi in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district. Akshara which means letters, is a program that is planned to make literacy popular among kids of villages.

The guests for the occasion were:

1. Shree Ramanna is working as Principal in Govt PU college in Nagasandra, Kunigal(Tq). He holds MA in Kannada and also a Kannada lecturer in PU college. He is also contributing his social service from past 15 yrs in “Patanjali Yoga Sishkana Samiti (R). He is known for his simplicity.

2. Guest – 2

He is a retired PWD engineer from same village. He will talk to children.

2013

Activity:

Children from 2 Ashramas were taught painting and craftwork. Cultural activities including taking them on a day trip was part of the program.

Activity:

School Uniforms were distributed to students in collaboration with Citec company to support their CSR goal

Education kits were donated to 70 students of Govt School. Various cultural activities were part of the program. This is in collaboration with with Citec company to support their CSR goal.

Activity:

Activity:

Education kits were donated to 100 students of Govt School. Various cultural activities were part of the program.

Activity:

Education kits were donated to 300 students of Govt Schools that were affected due to floods in and around Gokak.

Activity:

Baalya Foundation in association with Moog India Technology Centre distributed 92 school kits(Bags, Books and geometry box) to students of Govt School Ponnachi. The students come from very poor background and live in forest areas.

2021

Activity:

As a part of “Akshara program" to promote literacy in rural area, Baalya Foundation extended support to renovate the old village school. We donated Rs 50,000 to lay the cement interlocks in front of the school. This was helpful for children during rainy season.
