Programs‎ > ‎Olavu‎ > ‎

On a saturday of April 2009, Baalya Foundation, organized a summer workshop, Olavu 2009, for the children of orphanages. This workshop was conducted for the children of Nele (Premanjali and Asha Kirana) #7, “Sumata”, Weavers Colony, Gottigere Main Road, Bannerughatta Road, Bangalore-78, The number of children participating in this workshop were about 60-80, who were aged between 8-16yrs.

The prime focus of this summer workshop was to share or to give Love and Affection to the children of the orphanage. Typically, during a summer vacation, when most of the children are away with families on vacation, the children in orphanages are forgotten and have nowhere to go during holidays. We at Baalya Foundation believe that childhood plays a crucial role in shaping a person's character and every child must be given equal opportunities to be educated. Many children are not fortunate enough to be educated, or make the best use of their childhood.

As an NGO for children, Baalya Foundation organized Olavu 2009, which had included programs related to various fields like Science, Culture, History, Sports, General Knowledge and Personality development. The volunteers of Baalya mentored these children in these different categories.
